I've been teaching beginners guitar for many years, and the one thing I've learnt is that everyone is different. Different goals, styles, abilities and rates of progress. That's why a 'one size fits all' approach to guitar teaching doesn't work very well.
Most of the books and online courses you will see aren't tailored to you. They are generic courses that suit a few people, but not all.
Frequently they are too difficult, poorly explained, and progress too quickly. DVD's that come with guitar starter packs being a prime example. There are a few good ones, but often the DVD features a star guitarist rather than a guitar teacher who has little experience of actually teaching ! Sometimes these stars feel the need to show off rather than teach - with the result that 'just practise this for a few days' really means, practice this for about 5 years and you might be able to play one of my trademark licks ! .... The progression is often way too steep for most pupils.
So if you've been put off or confused by other courses, I promise I will help you learn at your own pace, and make sure you understand each lesson before we move on. I will also get you playing pieces you want to play as soon as possible or in the style you prefer.
